Great Green Careers has connected employers and job seekers across the green economy since 2009 — covering roles in energy (wind, solar, geothermal, tidal, biomass), environment (ecology, health and safety, parks, abatement), skilled trades (heating and cooling, electrical, plumbing, building automation), and transportation. For over a decade, we've been a trusted first stop for people looking to make their career count in industries that matter.
The green economy has changed significantly since we launched. What used to be a niche cluster of sustainability-adjacent jobs has become one of the fastest-growing segments of the global labor market, spanning climate tech, renewable energy, ESG, sustainable finance, green building, environmental consulting, and the circular economy. Keeping pace with that scale required a bigger platform — which is why we've partnered with the Sustainability Career Center. SCC is a dedicated job board purpose-built for the modern sustainability economy, extending the reach of Great Green Careers across more sectors, more geographies, and far more roles than we could cover alone.
Where SCC pulls ahead is in how it matches people to jobs. Rather than making candidates sift through endless listings and employers wade through unqualified applicants, SCC uses AI to understand what a role actually needs — the technical skills, the experience, the certifications, and the softer qualities that determine real fit — and matches that against what each candidate brings. The result is a sharper match on both sides: candidates see roles that actually suit them, and employers see candidates who can actually do the work. For a sector where the right hire can accelerate real climate impact, that matters.
